Effects of Predischarge Instruction on the Coping of hysterectomized Women


Abstract
The purpose of this study was to.assess the effect of predischarge instruction on the coping o the hysterectomized women in 3-4 months after their operation.
The subjects who had undergone hysterectomy for benign gynecological diseases at one of ge, eral hospitals in Seoul from July 14, 1986 to April 28, 1987.
From them, only 89 subjects were accepted; 40 subjects were selected for the experimental group who had applied predischarge instruction, while 49 subjects for the control group. The results were as follows;
1. The menopausal factor scores were not significantly different in two groups. The average scor s of menopausal factor in experimental group were 17.15 (S.D. = 12.75), and those in control group ere 17.90 (S. D. =14.80).
2. The operative factor scores were not significantly different in two groups. The average scores of operative factor in experimental group were 18.50 (S. D. =11.61), and those in control group were 1:.37 (S.D. = 12.31).
3. The change of coital resumption time, coital response, coital frequency and marital satisfaction ere not different in two groups.
4. The menopausal factor scores were shown significant differences both in coital frequency (p=.014) . d coital response (p=0.007).
5. The marital sitisfaction was shown significant differences in economic state (p=.036), education (p=.1101) and coital response (p =.003).
